Hi, my name is Tiffany. My nicknames over the years have been Tiffy, Tiffers, Tuff, Tuffers, Ah Mui (litte sister), Bat Mui (little brat), and the classic .. Tiff, to just name a few. I respond to any of them and certain people call me different names. I don't mind any of them.
Krstal calls me 'Tiffy'.
Rachel calls me 'Tuff'.
Daddy calls me 'Bat Mui'.
Growing up people always called me 'Stephanie'. Reasons:
#1 I mumble a lot and sometimes people hear 'Stephanie' instead of 'Tiffany'.
#2 There are a lot of immigrants from Portugal and Poland in my town, so their English isn't the best. So for some reason when they say 'Tiffany' it sounds like 'Stephanie' instead. (It took Bryan's mom FIVE years to call me 'Tiffany' instead of 'Stephanie)
SO .. over the years I've just prefer people call me 'Tiff', because it's easy to pronounce and only one syllable. I more likely to respond to 'Tiff' then 'Tiffany' actually.
HOWEVER, in Hong Kong .. people enjoy stressing the 'FAN' in Tiffany a little too much. They pronounce it ... "TiffFFFAAANNNNiie". They litterally add the Cantonese word for cooked rice '飯' (fan) with a big accent on the 'a'. So it's like "TiffFANnie".
Just tell people my name is 'Tiff' would be easier, right? NO .. the locals like to add this high squeak to my name. 'Tiff' is suppose to be said with a flat tone, no need to stress the 'ff' people!!
Sincerly and the most irked,
Tiffany Cher Yee
PS: YES, my mom gave me the middle name of 'Cher'. I hate it but what to do .. supposedly my Chinese name '雪怡 (Suet-Yee)' is 'Cher' in English. Yeah, whatever mom.
PS PS: By the way my last name is Yee (余) NOT Lee (李) .. STUPID PEOPLE. It's an 'Y' not a 'L'.
.. THIS FELT GOOD!
